Yeah. I know! It through me for a loop, because I thought I had more time (and was already behind on some of the promo.) But I was told the book designer was having fun with the book and it kind of became a pet project, so it made it to press really fast! I'm going to work on a new video of one of the poems in the book today.

You can order the book right off the AU site. I think that's the only way to get it at the moment, so that's the way I'd go. I was told it will take a couple weeks for it to get into bookstores proper (you know I'll be updating everyone about that!)

I wanted to ask you too: what is the preferable way to get your book? From the publisher directly? Or should I actively exercise my dislike for indie bookstores and pre-order from Amazon?

Thanks Wred. I like it too. But it's interesting to see how differently people can approach fiction (from an author's standpoint, anyway). I think what makes mainstream fiction work is that it is the least challenging (I don't mean that in a derogatory sense - as in 'it's easy', but it's geared at a more generic worldview.)

Wild. Yeah, I've been slowly watching Arabian Knight when I get time. It's almost pain inducing how much they've cheezed it up, but also really fascinating having watch the original 'vision' and how they've totally remixed it.

Are you talking about 6 versions of the Thief and the Cobbler? Or of all of William's stuff? He's Canadian I think I recognize the art style from some 80s NFB shorts...

The only version I've ever seen in it's entirety is the Miramax "Arabian Knight". It's fairly similar to the "Princess and the Cobbler", except it's been Disney-fied. Dialogue was added for the Thief's part by voicing his thoughts. I've managed to find all versions of Williams' work. I think, to date, there are 6 versions.

Can't wait to read it!

Well, many comments about this one:

1) I have just wasted 6:14 of my life that I will never get back.

2) They totally really used "totally" and "really" too much.

3) I hope to God (or whatever supreme power/unifying force out there) that Microsoft put more into Windows 7 than they put into the obviously low budget "launch party ad".

However, nice find. It's good to appreciate the finer things, and this video definitely helped make that comparison easier.
